Apple’s Steve Jobs to take a medical leave

Apple CEO Steve Jobs  is taking a medical leave for the 3rd time since 2004. The  shares tumbling more than 8% as the surprise revived concerns over the long-term future of the iPhone- and iPad-maker.

“At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health,”  wrote Steve Jobs in an email to his staff . “I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can.”

Steve Jobs is a “survivor” of pancreatic cancer, said Tim Cook, COO. Tim Cook will take responsibilities for day to day operations.
